I am curious... Why do some of the episodes. most of the first episodes, have a long recap? That's what made me so excited when I found this site. I even put it on my home screen of my phone for easy reading while I would have been watching the show on my TV.
ReplyDeleteIt was a style at the time. They originally started doing that on Hill Street Blues because it was the first drama series that wasn’t a prime time soap to have continuing storylines from week to week. So they did the “previously on” recaps to orient the viewer. The “tonight on” previews—that’s another thing they did at the time, probably to try to entice viewers who were checking out the show for the first time to stick around.
