Loved his acting in the final movie, "Bye Bye Love" (blew a kiss goodnight to his late wife). The movie soundtrack was fantastic, too. My thoughts to all of you. Bye Bye for now Ed. 💋Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2474373967694036822.post-37457978773420773522020-11-04T00:41:32.083-05:002020-11-04T00:41:32.083-05:00I was enthralled by this man, from "Mary Whit...I was enthralled by this man, from "Mary White" to "St. Elsewhere." I could sense his torment was not acted...he was a real, authentic soul and I grieve his loss. No judgement whatsoever about his demons and how he tried to fight them. My heart goes out to his family and his "St. Elsewhere" family, all of whom cared about him.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00188540109975196266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2474373967694036822.post-13522951108613504442020-10-28T18:10:54.270-04:002020-10-28T18:10:54.270-04:00❤️❤️Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15201262566310256154noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2474373967694036822.post-18220861298766590972020-10-28T18:10:37.482-04:002020-10-28T18:10:37.482-04:00❤️❤️Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15201262566310256154noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2474373967694036822.post-69305652759907097322017-08-28T22:19:20.789-04:002017-08-28T22:19:20.789-04:00Thanks for this. I adored St Elsewhere and the work of the cast, crew and those that wrote, produced and directed it.
It surprises me as a viewer of the show that the soft-spoken and caring Dr Westphal, was played by a man that seemed to keep others at arm's length. He seemed like the kind of man that we'd all want for a father, a mentor, a confidante. I adored his portrayal of Donald. Thank you to all of those who gave their thoughts on Ed in this article. It offered invaluable insight into a wonderful actor and one that was respected for his art.
Louis Perez, Chicago LakeviewAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12908491605242664452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2474373967694036822.post-69136322986450518572015-06-21T16:25:57.161-04:002015-06-21T16:25:57.161-04:00Ed Flanders was my second cousin, first cousin to ...Ed Flanders was my second cousin, first cousin to my mom, Carol. When I was 12, we took a family vacation and stopped by his house in Malibu. St. Elsewhere was about to debut. We were there all of 5 minutes and left because he was a mean drunk to my mom. When I was 13, he hugged me so hard at our family reunion in Canada. He told me I was full of s%it when I compared acting to news anchors. I was 13 and never pursued my own dream of being an actor because he scared me so much.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
